We are Ecstatic About The Experience We Had!

My husband and I live out of state and put our home up for sale with a different agent, different real estate company all together. My contact with Jim Bim Real Estate began on a Saturday night with a phone call from Grant Bimstefer. Reaching out to me as a cold call and introducing their agency to me, and offering to re-list my house. I Hired Jim Bim and his Son Grant to sell my 3 one-acre lots. Before meeting Jim I was with a big name Howard County Broker that had the listing for 2 years and was unable to produce a Buyer. I then went with another agent who had the property for one year again without a buyer. After 3 years of trying to sell my property I was pretty discouraged and took the Lots off the market. Jim’s son Grant called me and I was skeptical of all agents at that point. Grant asked for a meeting and after speaking with him for a few minutes I agreed.

After meeting with both Jim and Grant I felt they understood my position and the struggle I had gone through trying to develop and sell my Land. They knew the history of my property and I got the feeling that these guys were different. They had some amazing ideas on how to market the property and create the vision for a Buyer. Almost immediately after I signed a contract with them and they were able to sell all three lots to a Builder for $1,250,000!

With that portion of my property off the market we turned our attention to the sale of the Manor house at 3925 Folly Quarter Road in Ellicott City, MD and the remaining 57 acres. We listed the Estate with Jim and Grant and their Real Estate Agency, Winning Edge for $5,500,000. After watching what the team did on the Lots (meeting with the county, building and erecting custom signage and meeting people to walk the property rain or shine) I knew they would do a great job on the Manor house.

The selling of our house was a family decision and the fact that Jim and Grant Bim are a Family owned and operated real estate company they have the compassion and understanding that these are life-changing experiences and can be very emotional. They were in constant contact with us and no request was too small for them to help with.

Within 1 month of listing the property Jim and Grant found us a Buyer but there was a twist. The Buyer wanted all three Lots as well that we had previously sold to a Builder! Jim and Grant got right to work with the Builder who bought them and based on his relationship with that Builder was able to negotiate the deal where we would reclaim the lots and sell the entire property to the new Buyer. Not an easy thing to do but Jim and Grant got it done and we sold the Estate for full asking price of $5.5 million as well as the lots for $1,250,000 and went to settlement at the beginning of this year (2020).

The overall experience with Jim and Grant Bim was top notch and I would recommend them to anyone looking for an agent that has the experience, knowledge and tenacity to get the deal done.

Jim and Grant were fantastic and a pleasure to work with to sell our home. Whether selling or buying a home, the process and hoops can be daunting, frustrating, and stressful but Jim, Grant, and their Family team are truly fantastic. Our House Finally Sold and it was a Pleasant Experience!

My ex-husband and I had listed our house in spring of 2018 with another realtor. It was on the market for 9 months – 60 showings later (ugh!) we had only one offer and a bad one at that. To say we were discouraged with the process is an understatement. Jim proactively contacted us in 2019, we listed with him in early Fall 2019 and had a good offer within 3 weeks. To say we were COMPLETELY satisfied with Grant Bimstefer and his father Jim of “Team Jim Bim” of Long and Foster Real Estate regarding the sale of our home, is a major understatement! After listing our home for about 90 days with Redfin last fall, we decided to take if off the market during the holidays and re-list in the spring. As spring approached, we received several requests from many realtors making big promises to get our house sold quickly. After reconsidering our original realtor and interviewing a couple more, I decided to schedule an appointment with Grant Bimstefer since, after meeting him a few days earlier, he peeked my curiosity as he touched a bit on the team’s unique sales approach; I felt it was worth hearing more about. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of support on behalf of Jim personally and Team Jim Bim. During a very difficult time after my parent passed, I needed a turnkey solution to release my family (filled with the normal chaos of parenting young children) from a home we didn’t need, in a market we didn’t understand. This letter is to inform you of your Associate Broker, James W. Bimstefer who goes by the name Jim Bim of an outstanding job in the selling my property located at 23 Red Jonathan Court, Pikesville, MD 21208.I have known Jim for many years. I cannot remember how I met him, but I do remember him selling a property I owned in Reisterstown, Maryland, in a very short time after that home too had been on the market for an extended period of time with another real estate agent and failed to sell. I was surprise by the great results and so happy with the outcome of that home sale that I contacted Jim again to purchase a home for my brother to rent from me until he was able to purchase it. This transaction was smooth and easy, too. I lost track of Jim Bim over the years, and by this time I had three properties that I wanted to sell. After having my home in Pasadena, MD, listed with another realtor/agency for a year, I was resigned to the fact that it would never sell so I reluctantly decided to take it off the market. I've worked with and personally known a number of realtors over the years and Jim is, without a doubt, the BEST! After spending considerable time and money getting our parent's estate house ready to sell, we originally contacted REDFIN because of the lower commission rate. They valued the house too high and over the next 3 months had us slowly reduce the price. We were on a slow slide to well below what similar homes in the area were selling for. We received zero offers. We had a 3 month contract with REDFIN and our realtor was on vacation when it expired so it was not renewed. I had a property that was on the market for over a year with two different real estate agents. We had very few showings and no offers. Then my wife and I hired Jim Bim. What a difference! The home was vacant and we had not lived there in over a year. Needless to say, the home needed help. Jim took action and got the home cleaned out for us and he also got landscapers and so forth to address some issues that were hurting the sale and to make life even simpler, he covered the cost! When preparing to choose a realtor to sell your home, it may be beneficial to search the Internet for a list of ideal attributes that all successful realtors should possess. My husband and I did that after we had a bad experience with another realtor who, unsuccessfully, tried to sell our house. We are very happy to write this letter of reference for our forever real estate agent, Jim Bim. We initially listed our home with another agent. After months on the market we had received About 6 showings. We had received about 3 offers all of which were extremely low and (we feel) not serious. At the 10-month point (February) we decided to take the house off the market and wait until Spring. He sold our house in Columbia last April, in under a month. Another agent from out of town had it listed from the previous July-Dec. Two contracts fell through...I think Jim would have either made the first contract happen without all their contingencies or not had us tied up with them for all of August into September before we got out of it. Jim has some negative reviews on Yelp. He was not their agent. He was the agent of the seller a buyer was buying from. They should have reviewed their own agent. Jim is aggressive, follows up all the time, does not talk down to you, is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He doesn't conduct open houses, but encourages doubling up on showing times, so several agents and buyers are there at the same time, creating excitement. He has a follow up questionaire that goes out to each agent who shows the house. Yes, he asks what they thought but it's really about who may be the serious buyer who is worth pursuing. He is well versed in Howard Co./MD title law and even after closing is available to remind you of what you still may need to do, especially if the title company is slow in sending you money that you are due. He will go after them. Interview him. You won’t be sorry. He told us exactly what he would do to sell our house when we met with him and he did that, all right on time meeting all deadlines. Our house was not perfect, but we got our second asking price. And When the buyer came in $5000 below with their offer he asked me if that was a deal breaker. I said yes I wanted the asking price. He said OK I’ll get that. He did. In fact he got it plus another thousand. He is with the Bob Lucido team, but you hire Jim, you get Jim. Being with that team allows you resources like professional stagers that give you written guidelines based solely on your home and even a moving truck. We needed a new roof in the next couple years, our appliances were not brand spanking new but they were certainly modern, up-to-date and in working condition. Other realtors had said we should just sell the house with a warranty included. Jim said everything is negotiable down to the curtains. He said that often times if you give them something small they like, the bigger ticket items may not be so important. I believe that he is right. Our house was really pretty, updated cosmetically and that’s what sold it. We had already had a radon mitigation system installed and had the chimney relined before he listed our house. All in all, we ended up paying about $600 for repairs for the new buyer.
